Free or Paid Surveys Lists, Which To Use

To make consistent money from taking surveys online, you need to belong to several, really many, different survey websites. I belong to over 120 survey sites myself. Some of those sites email me everyday and some send email invitations at very irregular periods.

The easiest way to find out about sites to join is to get a list of such sites. If you do an online search you will find that there are "free" lists of such sites and sites where you must pay a onetime fee to get access to their database of survey sites to join.

I recommend you spend a little money and join a paid membership site for your list of survey websites. Why? Let's look a what free listings sites offer.

Now I have obviously not looked at every free listings site out there, but this is what I have found. The free sites, that I checked out, contained 6-12 actual survey sites you can join. The funny thing is that these same 6-12 survey companies appear in one free listing after another. These 6-12 survey companies are good ones and you will want to join them. But why do they appear over and over?

Some of these sites pay an affiliate fee to the list website publisher. There is nothing wrong with receiving an affiliate fee for recommending a product or service. I do this here. That is why those companies appear again and again. The real problem is the number of viable survey sites you will find on these free listings is so small. Another annoyance you will find with free listings is that they often contain pseudo survey sites, which are, in reality, pages of promotional opportunities that want you to spend money. These just waste your time.

To re-cap, free listing sites contain the same small number of survey companies coupled with useless (in my opinion) sites.

Paid or membership survey listings sites have many more survey sites for you to join. And that is important. The more survey companies you join, they more opportunities you have to make money. And the paid listing publishers spend time editing their lists, adding and subtracting companies as needed.

So what paid listing sites do I think you should check out? I have winnowed my recommendations down to three paid survey listing sites.

The first is my own membership site, Surverycash.com which contains over 120 survey sites you can join and costs $15.95. I have collected what I believe are the best survey companies open to US residents.

The second is SurveyScout which has over 400 survey sites in their database and contains companies that are open to residents in many other countries besides the United States. Plus they provide other services. They charge a one time fee of $34.95.

And the third is PaidSurveysOnline.com which has an even larger database (over 700) than the two other sites above. They charge $34.95 as well.

With many more choices provided, the paid membership lists are they way to go. A small investment can lead to a lifetime of earnings. These paid listing sites give you so many more opportunities to find survey companies that are looking for your particular characteristics. This means you will more likely to be accepted for a survey and make more money.

Note that each of these paid sites charge a onetime fee which allows you to access their updated databases anytime. And it takes very few surveys to recover your membership fee.

Joining a Survey Site.

How does one get paid for your opinions? First you have to register with a survey site.

Today I will show you how to join a survey site that has regularly paid me money over the last couple of years.

First click on this link: SurveySavvy.com. This will take you to SurveySavvy.com which is a site whose surveys are usually enjoyable to fill out and have a good pay to time ratio.

If you have clicked the link, you will now find yourself at the first page for joining this site. For SurveySavvy.com this happens to be a policy statement. Read it and then select the "accept" choice.

You are now on page which asks for general information about you. Fill it out accurately, the mailing address is where the company will send you checks.

SPECIAL TIP: Create a unique email address for surveys only. I use an email address that has the word "survey" in it. This way when you receive an email from a survey company you can quickly identify and respond to it.

After completing this page, the next page will ask some basic background genealogical information - your marriage status, your racial background, how many people live in your household. Survey companies use this information to qualify you for particular information. For example, some surveys are for men only. Some surveys are for people over 35. Etc.

The next page asks for data regarding your job. Again this is very basic and general and used to qualify you for surveys.

The final page asks for your phone number, computer speed and a couple of other items. Fill that out and click on the finish button.

You will then receive a confirmation email. Click the link to confirm your registration and you will soon be receiving email invitations to complete online surveys.

This is the basic process for joining a survey site. There maybe some differences in specific details, but most of them want part or all of this type of information.

What is a Survey Database Site?

I have been getting paid for doing online survey for over 3 years and during that time I have checked out many different survey databases, both paid and free.

So what is a survey database site?

First let me take a step back. You want to get paid to take surveys online, right? Well, how do you find which websites offer this service? You could do a search engine search for paid surveys or online surveys, etc. This will give you a bewildering amount of links to check. Links that will lead to useless websites as well as the ones you want to find.

Or you could go to a website that has already down this type of work. Such a site has already searched for survey companies that will pay people to take surveys and they have discarded all the ones that are junk. They then publish a list of the good companies online, creating a database. Normally, such a site will upgrade their lists of viable online companies regularly. This is a survey database site. A website where you can go and for a onetime fee get a list of all the useful sites that will pay you for your opinions.

Survey Scout is an example of one such site. Survey Scout has listings for several hundred companies that are looking for US residents of all ages and backgrounds, as well as people from other countries, to fill out surveys.

There are many survey databases to choose from. Survey Scout is one of my top three choices. For more information about Survey Scout, click here.

Getting Paid To Watch TV

I have taken a lot of different types of surveys. But recently I have taken ones that involve getting paid to watch television.

Twice I have been asked to watch the Democratic debates for PSB surveys. My profile shows that I am a voter and registered as a Democrat which I imagine was part of the qualifications for this particular survey. Anyway, both times I watched the Democrats tell me why they should be President. Both debates lasted about one hour and 30 minutes. Then I received a phone call from PSB, and was asked various questions about the debates and some of the individual candidates. This took about 5 minutes. A couple of weeks after each debate I received a check for $10 per survey. I know that is not a lot of money for such a long period of time. But here is the deal - I was going to watch the debates anyway! AND I love being able to voice my opinions in issues that really matter. Hopefully I will qualify again.

Then I qualified for a survey from Survey Spot which had me watch an hour long TV drama. For confidentiality reasons, I can't say the show's title. But it was one I hadn't seen before. After viewing the show I went online and took a survey that took about 15 minutes. I was asked about characters and plot and if I liked the direction the show was taking. All and all, it was fun to do. Got paid $5 for it, which is very little for the total time, but sometimes the enjoyment of the survey itself compensates for the lower hourly wage.

If you find the idea of doing surveys like this intriguing, check out the survey database sites listed in my resource area.
